IQF Course · The Yamas & Niyamas

Ethics

Life is not about what you do — it's about how you do it.

The Yamas and Niyamas — ten principles from Patanjali's Yoga Sutras — as a precise framework for seeing where your actions and your values fall out of alignment, and bringing them back into line.

An Ethics lesson playing inside the course — Beth Davis teaching Ahimsa
Not rules — tools

A map is not the journey.

You can study a map of Istanbul and know every street — but the map can't give you the scent of bread from a corner bakery or the warmth of being invited in for tea. The Yamas and Niyamas are the same: until you live them, they stay an idea. These lessons hand you the map; the practices walk you into the city. Not commandments to memorize or obey — tools you return to at every fork in the road, whenever a choice takes you out of alignment.

What's inside

Five for how you meet the world. Five for how you meet yourself.

The Yamas

How can I live in alignment with others and the world?
  • Ahimsa · non-violence — the baseline you return to in every uncertain moment, toward others and toward yourself.
  • Satya · truthfulness — aligning your words and actions with what's actually true in you.
  • Asteya · non-stealing — honoring the balance of giving and receiving: possessions, time, energy, attention.
  • Brahmacharya · right use of energy — finding "enough," and directing your energy at what truly matters.
  • Aparigraha · non-attachment — staying aligned, so what isn't meant for you falls away on its own.

The Niyamas

How can I live in alignment with myself?
  • Saucha · purity — clearing the physical, mental, and emotional clutter from your path.
  • Santosha · contentment — peace that doesn't depend on circumstances.
  • Tapas · discipline — the heat that burns away what no longer serves you.
  • Svadhyaya · self-study — seeing the patterns underneath your reactions.
  • Ishvara Pranidhana · surrender — trusting the flow of life instead of gripping it.
What's included

The map — and the practices that walk you into it.

Yours to return to, at your own pace, for as long as you practice.

Who it's for

For anyone whose actions and values have drifted apart.

This is for you if
  • You keep making choices that don't match your values — and you want to see why.
  • You learned the rules as a child — don't lie, don't steal — but no one ever taught you how to live them.
  • You want a steady framework for the moments you hit a wall and don't know which way to go.
This isn't for you if
  • You're looking for a list of rules to follow. These are tools for living, not commandments.
Your teacher

Beth Davis

Founder of the Institute of Quantum Frequency. Beth has practised the 84 postures of the Ghosh lineage — the therapeutic tradition of Bishnu Charan Ghosh — since 2011, later seeking out senior teachers Esak Garcia and Kim Tang for their depth of experience in the practice. Fifteen years inside those 84 postures is where IQF's 84-Code System came from. Ethics is where that work begins — the ten principles everything else stands on.

The Yamas & Niyamas

When we are at peace within, we bring peace to everything we touch.
